How it works
Upload your clip
Any shot of 4 to 15 seconds on Fast, or up to 30 seconds on Pro. The camera movement, timing and motion are what Viral Swap keeps.
Say what changes
Pick Character, Object or Background and add a reference image of the new person, product or place, up to 9. Add a look in Style, with any swap or on its own with Restyle. Type @ in the prompt to point at a reference.
Swap and download
The result runs exactly as long as your clip. Drag the before/after handle to check it, then download the MP4. Every swap is kept in your history.
FAQ
What is Viral Swap?
An AI video editor that replaces one thing in a real video, whether the person, an object or the whole background, using a reference image, or restyles the whole clip from a prompt. The camera, timing and motion stay exactly as shot, so the result looks filmed rather than generated.
What can I swap?
Character swaps the main person for someone else. Object swaps a product or prop, such as a cup, a bottle or a phone. Background moves the whole scene somewhere new while the people and their movement stay.
What is the difference between Fast and Pro?
Fast runs on MiniMax H3: quick and low cost, 768P or 2K, clips of 4 to 15 seconds, and it can change the frame shape to any of seven aspect ratios. Pro runs on Seedance 2.5: 720p or 1080p, clips of up to 30 seconds, it keeps your clip's shape, and it holds the original motion most faithfully.
What makes a good source clip?
One continuous shot with a clearly visible subject and steady lighting. For a character or object swap, keep the subject in frame for most of the clip; for a background swap, a subject that stands apart from the scene works best.
What makes a good reference image?
A sharp, well-lit image of just the thing you want in the video: a face and outfit for a person, the product on a plain background for an object, a wide shot for a place. Several images of the same subject from different angles help it hold up as it turns.
Can I change the style of a video without a reference image?
Yes. Set What to swap to Restyle, then pick a look in Style, such as 35mm film, infrared or ukiyo-e, or describe your own. The whole clip is redrawn in that style while the camera, timing and every movement stay as shot. Style also works with a swap, for example a new lead shot as film noir.
Do I need to write a prompt?
No. Each swap type has a built-in instruction. Add a prompt when the clip has several people or objects and you want to say which one, or to add detail, for example "replace the woman on the left with @Image1".
How long does a swap take?
Usually a few minutes: Fast is quicker, Pro takes longer. You can keep working or leave the page, and the finished swap appears in your history.
What does it cost?
Credits per second of your clip: Fast 86 at 768P or 140 at 2K, Pro 184 at 720p or 414 at 1080p. An 8-second clip on Fast at 768P is 688 credits. The price is shown on the button before you start, and failed swaps are refunded automatically.
Can I use Viral Swap in the Agent?
Yes. Give the Agent a video and a reference image and ask it to swap the person, an object or the background.
